Due to recent changes in our organization, we are required to collect sales tax on purchases from non-tax exempt customers in the states of Florida and Alabama. This change was effective Aug 1, 2023 when the merchandise was moved to Alabama and has resulted in changes in the online store.
Initially, all Alabama chapters have been placed into a non-tax exempt group in the store in order to collect sales tax from online transactions. Any chapters that should be recognized as a tax exempt group (and have no sales tax collected) can be marked as such as they provide the National Merchandise Director with a copy of each church’s Tax Exempt Certification and materials are purchased through that entity. Please keep in mind the tax exempt certificate has to be on file and approved to stop State of Alabama sales tax from being collected.
